20 points within the month of August were added to the DXCC challenge counter. Not bad...
The highlights of August in my LotW account: CY9M, VP/VA2WA, HK0NA, ST0R, 9M4SLL, E51NOU, V44, VK7, VU2, AL9 and some KH6.
This is my 1st personal blog about my hobby "amateur radio". This blog is mainly for entertainment... To keep record about QSOs, QSLs, awards and other things, which make the hobby interesting for me. And maybe for others as well ...

WAS from EA8/Tenerife
Last year in October we were again active with a small HF station from Tenerife. It is one of the Canary Islands, northwest of Africa.. As EA8/DL3FCG we had a QSO with the last 5 missing of all 50 US states:
DDXCC - Diamond DXCC award. I did it!
Today I applied for the Diamond DXCC award of the ARRL. I submitted my application with 151 worked entities. I guess this number of entities is a good result for a modest equipped radio station.
We´ll see how long it takes to receive the printed paper form the ARRL.

D64K - It´s over now..
The big DXpedition D64K to the Comores Island is over now. I was lucky to have made it into their log 10 times on 5 bands with 3 modes. Often the signals were very loud, especially on the higher bands. Most of the time the pile-up was incredible huge. Unfortunately their 20m SBB frequency 14.150 was not usable for me, due to constant carrier noise. But that leaves open an opportunity for the next DXpedition to D6 land :-) Anyway: Thanks for a great DXpedition !

Diamond DXCC - #150 worked! Yess!!
Working on the 75th anniversary award of the DXCC program, I was lucky to get my last 3 DX stations int the log to achieve the #150 endorsement of the DDXCC award. Nice to work BX4AD from Taiwan, 5H3ME Tanzania and RI1ANF as #150 from the South Sandwich Islands/VP8. Btw: all those three worked again in CW ...

Amazing halfyear 2012 - NH8S, 3D2C, ZL9HR ...
NH8S - Swains Island
Only a few days left until the start of this Pacific DX pedition to Swains Island. Expected to be on the air September 8th - 18th.3D2C - Conway Reef
Starting September, 24th Conway Reef will be activated by Hrane YT1AD and his team.ZL9HR - Campbell Island
Starting on November 28th. Campbell Island will be activated by a large group of DXers. Campbell Island, South Pacific Ocean, 700 km south of New Zealand... Very rarely activated and really remote location. Last amateur radio activation of Campbell Island was ZL9CI in 1999. I was lucky then: worked them on 20m and 30m in CW.

Challenge 900
Starting 2005, the beginning of my LotW account in the ARRL Logbook of the world database, I am working on the DXCC challenge award. The goal is receiving 1.000 different band confirmations for each DXCC entity. Per band only 1 confirmation counts (either SSB or CW or DIGITAL...)!
