Hurray! In the log of NH8S ...

I could not believe my ears. Exact at the time when the propagation chart showed a good opening to Swains Island - right before sunset in Germany .... "DL3FCG ... 5nn...tu"  ... NH8S was in the log at 17m CW.

A new DXCC worked ... Hurray!

Don´t know if it was really long path 25.000 km over the South pole or short path 15.000 km over the North pole. But it was a huuuuge distance :-)

Maybe other QSO will follow in the next few days. 20m CW good signals in the morning. Same for 17m SBB. But any further QSO will be the cream on the cake...

First ever QSO to Swains Island was the goal! Achieved not even 24 hours after DXpedition started. Great team - great DXpedition! Thank you !

  1. ...another QSO on 20m CW with groundplane antenna and after setting up a fieldday-style antenna YP3 3ele yagi in the garden, a SSB QSO on 17m was done late at night :-)
